St. Jude Parish Finances and Mission July 2010-June 2011

The summary of revenue and expenses on the other side of this page is incomplete without a recounting the non-financial results for the Parish both within and outside our faith community.  These are summarized under the three pillars of our Parish Mission: Liturgy & Worship, Sharing and Serving, and Faith Formation for the 1674 registered households of our parish.

Liturgy & Worship

Nourished by the Eucharist and the example of Jesus we, St. Jude Parish, embrace the world and future generations with open arms and generous hearts.

·         Over 1,297 individuals on average attended Eucharist each week. Three choirs, dozens of cantors and accompanists provided wonderful music to enhance our worship.  In total, approximately 400 people serve in 10 liturgical ministries.

·         58 Baptisms, 4 Professions of Faith, 62 First Eucharists, 43 Confirmations, 900 Sacraments of Reconciliation, 14 Marriages, over 640 Annointings, and 15 Funerals.

Sharing and Serving

Strengthened by our Catholic faith and community we strive to welcome, serve, and be compassionate to all our brothers and sisters.

·         We welcomed 91 newly registered households into the parish.

·         Thru Parish Tithing we provided year 5 of a 5 year parish pledge to help Blessed Teresa of Calcutta parish, continued our support to our Sister Parish in Tijuana, continued our monthly support to our parish St. Vincent de Paul in their work with the poor in our own Redmond community, supported the Criminal Justice/Jail Ministry of the diocese, and assisted poor parishes in our Archdiocese through our Home Missions contribution.

·         We hosted 100 homeless individuals of Tent City 4 for the third time in the past 6 years.

·         We also supported numerous people in need across the Archdiocese of Seattle and our world through collections for Missions, Catholic Relief Services, Build Hope, and Catholic Community Services.

Faith Formation

Guided by the Holy Spirit and our rich tradition, we are inspired to learning, growing, and witnessing God’s boundless love.

·         Over 324 children learned about their faith in weekly classes, and 62 children received First Eucharist with support from parents and catechists.

·         Over 94 teens participated in Sunday Teen gatherings, outings, spirituality groups, a  mission trip, retreats, and service projects.

·         38 teens were Confirmed with the help of parents, adult leaders and organizers; 20 young adults gathered for formation opportunities sponsored by the parish.

·         Over 200 adults participated in Adult Education/Formation classes and workshops while 12 adults/children came into the Church through the Rite of Christian Initiation

Thank you for your generosity…your Time, Talent and Treasure!
