St. Jude Parish Finances and Mission

Fiscal Year July 2008-June 2009 in Review

The summary of revenue and expenses on the other side of this page is incomplete without a recounting the non-financial results for the Parish both within and outside our faith community.  These are summarized under the three pillars of our Parish Mission: Liturgy & Worship, Sharing and Serving, and Faith Formation.

Liturgy & Worship

Nourished by the Eucharist and the example of Jesus we, St. Jude Parish, embrace the world and future generations with open arms and generous hearts.

·        Over 1,300 individuals on average attended Eucharist each week. Three choirs, dozens of cantors and accompanists provided wonderful music to enhance our worship.  In total, approximately 450 people serve in 11 liturgical ministries.

·        63 Baptisms, 4 Professions of Faith, 75 First Eucharists, 80 Confirmations, 650 Sacrament of Reconciliation, 26 Marriages, over 500 Annointings, and 24 Funerals.

Sharing and Serving

Strengthened by our Catholic faith and community we strive to welcome, serve, and be compassionate to all our brothers and sisters.

·        We welcomed 105 newly registered households into the parish.

·        Thru Parish Tithing we provide 12 grants to charitable causes, fulfilled our parish pledge to help Blessed Teresa of Calcutta parish, continued our strong support to our Sister Parish in Tijuana, and continued our monthly support to our parish St. Vincent de Paul in their work with the poor in our own Redmond community.

·        Hosted 80-100 homeless individuals in Tent City during May, June, and July 2009.

·        We also supported numerous people in need across the Archdiocese of Seattle and our world through Missions, Catholic Relief Services, Build Hope, CCS and other collections.

Faith Formation

Guided by the Holy Spirit and our rich tradition, we are inspired to learning, growing, and witnessing God’s boundless love.

·        Over 331 children learned about their faith in weekly classes, and 75 children received First Eucharist with support from parents and catechists.

·        Over 100 teens participated in Sunday Teen meetings, spirituality groups, 1 mission trip, a Food Fast/Service Day and various other service projects.

·        60 teens were Confirmed with the help of parents, adult leaders and organizers.

·        312 adults participated in Adult Education/Formation classes and workshops.

·        20 adults/children came into the Church through the Rite of Christian Initiation
