St. Jude Parish

 

                            

MEETING DATE PLACE AND TIME:  First Thursday of the month, 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers (Room 4 in the St. Jude Parish Hall).

NEW MEMBERS: Men 18 and older and transfers welcome.  Contact Don Garcia at 425-836-5509 or dgarcia@yahoo.com for information and an application.  Become a member of our active council where you will have a role in our varied programs and enjoy the fellowship of 80 men of St. Jude’s Parish.

 

PARISH-WIDE EVENTS:

Pancakes & More Breakfasts:  Held in the parish hall each month (usually the second Sunday), September through May, after morning liturgies.  All are welcome for the all-you-can eat meal and fellowship for a donation to support Council projects.                                       

Annual Crab Feed:  Held the first Saturday in February, a capacity seating of 275 is sold out each year for this all-you-can eat crab feed.

Kansas City Bar-B-Q Competition:  On July 23rd this year, our team, “the Holy Smokes” will again compete at the Bothell Council grounds where they have earned trophies in past events.  All are welcome to this family affair for food and fun said to be the “Best $10 deal around”.  Watch for detail announcement. (Click here for info on past BBQs and pictures)

Oktoberfest:  Held the third Saturday in October, the event features the sampling of unique beers and an authentic bratwurst dinner for an evening of merriment.  Tickets will be available in September after liturgies and in the Parish Office. (Click here for pictures)

MEMBERSHIP ACTIVITIES:  

Members and their Ladies Christmas Party.  Usually held the first Saturday in December, the activity boasts Cheer, Supper and a fun Gift Exchange.

Family Picnic.  In late May, the whole Knights’ family will enjoy food  and fun at the Trilogy play grounds.  Games for kids and kids at heart will prevail. 

Knights & Their Ladies Mass & Breakfast.  Held in June, Knights assume lay minister roles for the 9 a.m. liturgy, attend as a group and host their ladies for brunch.   

Assistance.   The Council financially supports the Parish Youth Group and other endeavor for youth that may be identified.   

Charitable Giving.  Numerous local and national groups are regularly supported with financial grants each year.

Road Clean-up.  Periodically, a team of Knights pick up trash along 166th Ave .

Monthly Newsletter.  A monthly newsletter keeps members apprised of Council activities, birthdays, anniversaries, Knight of the Month, Family of the Month and coming events. 

Knight’s Insurance.  Members are eligible to purchase a full range of insurance options from the National Knights of Columbus Insurance which has been rated one of the best programs in the nation. 

Christian Foundation for Children and Aging.  The Council, through this organization, currently supports Juan Guillermo Palacios Bonifacio, a 10 year old boy in San Salvador.  

Assisting Seminarians.  Each year the Council participates in a national Knights of Columbus program supporting seminarians financial.   

SERVICES                                                                                                                                 

Responding to Pastor and Parish needs.  From time to time, projects are identified needing man power which members are happy to provide.  

Religious Items Store Faithfully administered by Brother Jim Robinson, a wide array of religious items is presented at breakfasts and other events for sale.

Eucharistic Ministers, Lectors, Ushers, Pastoral Council.  Members fill these rolls on a regular basis.
