Old Business:

¨      Anusha reported that Fr. Dave is continuing to work on developing a committee to seek ways to support St. Theresa’s interest in building a Catholic school in  Woodinville.  Gary  reminded the council that previous work has been done in this area & suggested that past committee members be contacted so collected data be can be used to save time & resources.

¨      Discussion was held on the upcoming Pastoral Council vacancies. Tim Thompson & Bob Clancy will complete their 3 yr. council terms this spring. Several parishioners voiced complaints last spring that voting did not take place, & options were not presented with the selection process. The timing of a bulletin announcement; asking for parishioners interested in serving on the Pastoral Council was discussed, as well as an informational meeting or retreat to discern candidates. The election will be held on the 3rd Sunday of May, in accordance with the bylaws.

¨      Don reviewed the list of future agenda items, presented at the last       meeting. Since time is limited at this meeting, discussion will be held next month to determine which item will be the priority to start working on. Don reported that he was able to attend the financial council meeting & discuss ways the Pastoral Council can best work with & support the Finance Council.

Staff Report:

¨      Deacon Carl Smith provided us with an overview of his educational, musical,  & professional background. He shared with us his enthusiasm for liturgy & his thoughts on what liturgy should look like. He discussed liturgy that adapts to the culture of the parish, and inclusive liturgy that makes all people feel welcome. Carl shared with the council his impressions of St. Jude’s parish, what draws people to their parish  & goals he’d like to work toward for liturgy, arts & environment, & music ministries. Discussion followed.

Pastors Report:

¨      Fr. Dave shared his appreciation for having Fr. Joey back on board & the addition of Carl to the staff in time for the busy holy season of Lent & Easter.  Fr. Dave shared his concern for Fr. Joey to continue with the supervision of a health care professional, as due to his popularity Fr. Joey has many well meaning parishioners giving him dietary/ medical advice & attempting to care for him.

¨      Fr. Dave shared his concern for women feeling disenfranchised not only in the Catholic Church but at St. Jude parish as well. Discussion was held on ways to identify & highlight women & all people in the parish that make up the fabric of St. Jude parish.
