Marriage - Scheduling

The ceremony is scheduled with the parish Church. Archdiocesan regulations prohibit conducting services elsewhere without expressed permission of the Archbishop; and permission is very rarely extended. Saint Jude is available for rehearsals and weddings on any weekday or Saturday when other activities are not regularly or already scheduled. Evening weddings are usually conducted on Fridays between 6:00-8:00pm. Saturday wedding start times are between 11:00am and 2:00pm, or during the scheduled 5:00pm liturgy. Usual times are 11:00am and 2:00pm to allow for two weddings on the same date. Reconciliation and Evening and Saturday Eucharist obligations make it impractical for present staff to conduct Saturday evening ceremonies.

Schedule the rehearsal through the wedding coordinator in the parish office. The usual times are between 4-7pm but other arrangements can be made depending on the coordinator's availability. The norms of the Catholic Church stipulate that weddings do not usually take place during the season of Lent. If, however, a marriage does take place during Lent, simplicity in form and decoration are expected.
